Description

“The Knowledge of HaShem,” is the culmination of years of effort on the part of The Neirot Foundation to present all the major concepts of Kabbalah and Chassidus as one systematic whole, expressed in an orderly and methodical fashion and in language and style that would be both accessible and enjoyable to the English reading public. It is based, almost in its entirety, on two major classic Chassidic masterpieces authored by the holy and Godly Gaon and Tzaddik; our master, teacher and rabbi, Rabbi Dov Ber of Lubavitch, the second Rebbe of the Chabad Chassidic movement, who is lovingly called “Der Mittler Rebbe” by Chabad Chassidim everywhere.

Part One, which gives a systematic explanation of the entire Seder Hishtalshelut (The Chaining down of the worlds), in a way of understanding and comprehension, is based on Shaar HaYichud (The Gate of Unity) of the Mittler Rebbe, chapters 10 through 54. It is called, “The Key to Chassidus” and is absolutely essential to a true and proper understanding of Kabbalistic and Chassidic thought.

Part Two is based on Shaar HaYichud (The Gate of Unity), Chapters 1 through 9. This part of Shaar HaYichud is sometimes referred to as Kuntras HaHitbonenut (The Tract on Contemplation and Meditation). It systematically explains the workings of the human mind and the methodology of how to approach Divine contemplation, i.e. the study of Kabbalah and Chassidus, giving the student a proper path for an optimal chance to succeed.

Part Three is based on Kuntras HaHitpaalut (The Tract on Divine Inspiration), of the Mittler Rebbe. This work was actually written prior to Shaar HaYichud and serves as an introduction to it, as indicated by the initial words of Shaar HaYichud itself. In it the Mittler Rebbe gives an extensive and systematic account of the ultimate effects of Divine contemplation and describes all the levels of both the animal soul and the Godly soul. In the process he also describes all the levels of Divine inspiration and explains how these levels may be attained. Furthermore, he also explains the various pitfalls that one may encounter on his path of Divine service and how to avoid them.
